About Me
I am a self-taught fiber artist, coming to the craft during a time in my life when I needed stillness, and the quiet, repetitive practice of knotting became a form of meditation. It was a way for me to find clarity amid the unknown, a process of transforming a simple cord into something with purpose and form.
The joy is in the work itself. There is a deep satisfaction in the conversation with the material—the feeling of the rope in my hands, the gentle sound of cords rubbing against each other as I knot, and the ultimate reward of seeing a tangible creation of beauty emerge.
What's even more meaningful is knowing that this craft is part of a timeless, universal language. Rope has been an ubiquitous thread throughout human history, used by everyone from priests to sailors, and it is a profound honor to tie the very same knots as people from centuries ago, continuing a tradition that is both ancient and ever-new.
Passing on this rich tradition is a vital part of my studio's mission. Through my classes, I get to share the mindfulness and joy I've found in this process. My hope is to help others discover the health and healing that comes with making something with their own hands—building creative confidence one knot at a time.
